request training
To request training on a specific instrument, send an email to Dr. Qi Zeng with the subject heading, "Request Training." Prerequisites: the completed User Agreement, General Laboratory and Chemical Safety Training, and Biosafety Training.
Biosafety Training
An overview of biohazards and safe handling procedures used in the BioNano Research Facility. This safety training is required of all individuals requesting access to the labs prior to use of equipment. This training complies with WVU EH&S and CDC guidelines.
Training lasts approximately 1 hour.
Additional training (scheduled as needed) is suggested for individuals interested in learning mammalian cell culture handling and techniques.
Instruments
Mass Spectrometer
Location: 381 CRL
Duration: variable
Pre-requisites: Biosafety and General Lab & Chemical Safety Training
The Q-Exactive is currently being used in both positive and negative modes for small molecule, proteomic and oligonucleotide applications. The duration of training to use the Q-Exactive and the LC systems is highly varied and largely dependent on the user’s background in mass spectrometry based applications. For more information, please contact Qi Zeng.
