Materials Fabrication and Characterization Facility

The Materials Fabrication and Characterization Facility (MFCF) provides users with equipments to fabricate nanostructured materials and instruments to characterize the structural, chemical, electrical, optical and magnetic properties of materials.

The MFCF is equipped with the following instruments:

• Atomic Force Microscopy/Scanning Probe Microscopy (AFM/SPM)

• Fourier Tansform Infrared Spectrometer (FTIR)

• Pulsed Laser Deposition System (PLD)

• Raman Spectroscopy (Raman)

• RF/DC Magnetron Sputtering System

• Spectroscopic Ellipsometer

• X-ray Diffractometer (XRD)

• X-ray Photoelectron Spectrometer (XPS)

• Ultraviolet Photoelectron Spectroscopy (UPS)

MFCF is open to all the faculty and students at West Virginia University as well as the researchers at nearby academic/research institutions and related industrial companies.
